All of the Library's electronic resources are now available through
the CrossSearch
service.
For those persons not familiar with CrossSearch, the following
directions are provided.
Show me How to:-
find Resources/Databases
by Subject
find Resources/Databases by Title
search multiple Resources/Databases simultaneously
find individual Full Text Electronic Journals
find New Databases, and those on trial
find Resources/Databases by Type e.g. Online
Newspapers
find an article, when you have full or partial
citation details
1. To find Resources/Databases by Subject:
Select the following tabs/options in CrossSearch:
"Find Database" => "Find Database" =>
"Category" => then select subject area [more
help]
2. To find Resources/Databases by Title:
Option 1
Select the following tabs/options in CrossSearch
to search for a title
"Find Database" => "Find Database" =>
"Titles" [more
help]
Option 2
Select the following tabs/options in CrossSearch
for a full (a-z) title list:
"Find Database" => "Database List"
3. To search multiple Resources/Databases
simultaneously:
Option 1 (the quick and easy way)
Select the following tabs/options in CrossSearch:
"Search" => "New search" => "Quicksets"
(in the drop down menu) => select the relevant Quick Set
Option 2 (if you want to see the full range of databases and
make your own choices)
"Search" => "New search" => "Subject
categories" (in the drop down menu) => select the relevant
subject category (and if an option, the relevant sub-category)
=> tick the check boxes for the databases you wish to search

4. To find individual Full Text Electronic
Journals:
Select the following tab in CrossSearch
"Find e-Journals/Articles" => and search either
by title or, alternatively, by subject [more

5. To find New Databases, and those on trial:
Select the following tabs/options in CrossSearch:
"Search" => "New Search" => "New
Databases" (in the drop down menu) [more

6. To find Resources/Databases by Type e.g.
Online Newspapers:
Select the following tabs/options in CrossSearch:
"Find database" => "Find database" =>
"Locate" => and select appropriate "Type"
from the drop down list [more

7. To find an article, when you have full
or partial citation details:
Select the following tab in CrossSearch
"Find e-Journals/Articles" => and fill in the "Find
an Article" search form, with as much of the citation detail
