The Course
Reserve Collection consists of assigned reading material that is
expected to be in heavy demand during teaching sessions. There
are
two components to the service
- online material (journal articles, chapters of books, ebooks etc)
which can be accessed by searching the electronic Course
Reserve facility;
- physical material (books, DVDs, videos etc) which are located on
the Ground Level of the Library.
Note: Personal copies of books or
folders of notes for essays and tutorials are held behind the
Service Desk.
Preferred Format for Course Reserve Material
Once lists of materials are provided to the Library by academics,
items will be linked to electronic documents whereever possible
which means students
(particularly off-campus students) have access to material via the catalogue
24 hours a day, and can print, download or read
online at any time.
For books which
have multiple chapters cited, or where a whole book has been set
for a particular course, or for other material which cannot be legally
digitised
by the University, the material is held in the physical Course Reserve
Collection.
