What is it?
The Academy Library has introduced a new interface for the requesting
of items not available in the Academy Library but required for
study and reseach at the Academy.
Why change?
The old system was becoming outdated, was not built on
standards, was not fully automated and involved updating a variety
of systems.
Improvements
Some improvements in the new system are, being able to
track your request at each stage of the process, see all the requests
you have made, look up a particular request and make an on-line
renewal request on a renewable item
Registering
This once-only registration process is neccessary
in order to meet Copyright Act requirements.
In order to use the Ask4it service you will need to re-register
your details. This will allow us to activate your details in the
new system and provide your new User Login and User Password.
You do not need to come to the Library to do this. Please use
this as an opportunity to update your details with us.
Ask4it Registration Process:
- Fill in the Registration
form This can be submitted on-line.
- Fill in the form and submit it.
- After processing by the Ask4it section, you will receive your
access details by email. Please allow 24 hours for a response.
All inter library loans and document delivery requests must be
submitted electronically using the Academy Library's Ask4it
Service.
Once you have your access details, you can use the
Ask4it service to
make an inter library loan or document delivery request if the
item that you need is not available from the Academy Library.
Please ensure that you check the Library's
catalogue before you make your request.
