Finding additional readings
In addition to the references on your reading list, you will need to find additional readings. Reading more widely on a topic will help you write
a better essay.
Reliability of resources
Some sources of information are regarded as more reliable than others because of the way they are produced or created. When looking for information for academic use:
- it is best to use sources that have a higher level of accountability. These are generally scholarly sources like academic texts or peer-reviewed journals
- take the time to read widely and carefully consider the material you select. The Learning Centre has some useful resources including an Effective reading guide and a
checklist for the selection of academic materials
