Preparing for classes
Classes at university take the form of :
- Lectures
Lecture notes may be available but it is advisable to take your own notes and summarise the essential information provided by your lecturer to revise later. This will help you to concentrate and stay focused during classes.
- Tutorials
Tutorials are a forum for the discussion of topics, questions and the exchange of ideas. They will help you to develop your knowledge of the subject. Tutorials will also assist you in preparation for assignments and exams. Each week, tutorial discussions are usually led by an individual or group of students. Participation in tutorials generally counts towards your final mark.
- Laboratory classes
Laboratory classes are generally held for science, engineering, language and computing students. They give you a chance to gain practical knowledge.
