e-Books

As part of the One Online Library the Academy Library now purchases e-books cooperatively with the main UNSW Library Kensington.

There are 2 ways of accessing e-books:

  1. Academy Library Catalogue - Some individual e-books are available in our catalogue and can be found by author, title or subject search.
Note: Individual e-books from the Praeger international security e-book collection are only available via our catalogue.
The e-book can be accessed via the 'Linked Resources' link.

  2. UNSW Library Resources Database (catalogue) - A much larger number of e-books (also individually catalogued) are available to the UNSW@ADFA community via the UNSW Library Resources Database.
  3. Important: To search the UNSW Library Resources Database (catalogue) for e-books ensure you are doing an Advanced Search. Then limit the search to:
             Collection: All
Format: e-Books - by selecting the radio buttons shown below

Software requirements:

Most of the e-books available through the UNSW Library Resources Database reside on the EBL (Electronic Book Library) platform.

PC and MAC users need Adobe Reader 8 (or above) and are advised to use Internet Explorer or Firefox or Safari (for MACs).

If you are downloading an EBL e-book, you will also need the Adobe e-book plugin 'Digital Editions.
If you are having problems installing from the Adobe site, you can download and install the plugin from the ICTS Software site.
