This title search option is the most useful when you know the exact
title of a resource or the first few words of the title.
For Example: You need to find this
book:
Anthony, Livesey 1987. Great commanders and their battles.
[New York] : Macmillan.
Important tips to remember when searching for
a title:
- type in the words of the title in exact order (eg. great
commanders....)
- omit the, a, an if it is at
the beginning of a title
- you do not need to enter the whole title, just the start of
it
- omit punctuation and capital letters

Title Initial Words - from the Simple Search list box

commanders in the Find This:
box
3. Click the Search
button

Location and Availability
Within the display list, or within the record, the Location
and Call Number will tell you where
to find an item in the library. You can find this information by
scrolling down the record screen. Many titles have more than one
copy and location. The record screen will look something like this:
- Location will tell you in which
collection an item is held. Great commanders and their battles
is a folio, so it is in the folio collection
- Call number (shelf number) indicates
where the item is located on the shelves
- Number of items indicates how
many copies are held in the Library
- Status will tell you if the
item is available for borrowing:
On Loan if the title has already been borrowed (you may
want to recall this title)
Available if the title is available for borrowing
Returned on... if the title has been returned to the library
recently. It may not yet be back on the shelf, but is available
for borrowing. Ask at the Services Desk.
To search for another item at any time, click the Search
link at the top of the record screen.
