To find a chapter in
a book
When you are referred to a chapter citation,
make sure that you can properly identify the title of the chapter.
This will sometimes be in italics or underlined.
For Example:
Forbes, Vivian Louis, "Geopolitical Change: Direction
and Continuing Issues", in Southeast Asia Transformed: a
Geography of Change. Singapore: ISEAS, 2003, pp. 47-94.
- The title of the chapter is
"Geopolitical Change: Direction and Continuing Issues"
- The title of the book is Southeast
Asia Transformed: a Geography of Change
The following search will retrieve the catalogue record for this
book.
Another way of locating chapters in books is
the use the Guided Search option, see the example below:
1. Select the Guided Search tab
and type in the chapter title (select the following options: as
a phrase and Keyword Anywhere).

Note: The Academy Library has been adding to the catalogue
records the chapters and sub chapters from most books, and sometimes
the keywords from indices, since 1986.
2. Select the Contents tab to look
at the chapter titles for this book. In the example below the item
we were looking for will be chapter 2 in the book entitled Southeast
Asia transformed: a geography of change.
