Author Browse - Hints

Author Browse is used to find items by a particular author. It will search for a personal name, company name, oganisation name or a conference name.

Important tips to remember when you are browsing for an author:
  • Start with the family name then initial
  • Omit punctuation and capital letters
  • For example: You need to find all items in the Library by Charles Edwin Woodrow Bean.

    1. In the catalogue, select Author Browse in the Find Results in: box

    2. Enter the family name followed by the initial of the first name in the Find this: box: e.g. bean c

    3. Click on Search. You will see the name and number of items by Bean, C.E.W.(Charles Edwin Woodrow), 1879 - 1968

    4. Click on his name to view the list of titles and to obtain details of the books. Note: Only the authorised form of the author's name will have hypertext links to titles.
